2007 Fatboy cable connectors
Arvis, I sent you an e-mail not sure if you received it, but I went to remove console and turned it upside down and there was a lot of wires to disconnect, do I really have to remove console to slide tank up or remove tank? I guess when I seen all those wires I got nervous, sorry for all the questions I don't want to screw it up.

Hi Pat,
Didn't get your email.
I don't think its absolutely necessary to remove the console, but it is a lot safer this way. All wires in the cosole have different plugs. Theres no way to mix them. It takes no time at all to remove it and put it back.

Do yourself a favor, get one of these ....
Electrical wire removal tool
I used needle nosed pliers to pull out the white plate, (only pull it out a few mm's, not all the way out), then a paper clip.
I had to remove I think 8, ......... 7 came out within seconds and one took me 20 mins. The next set of 6 all came out easy but one, Phuker took me 20 mins, (break of 10 mins), 30 mins, (break of 3 hours) and then the 3rd time came out in 2 seconds.
As I said, buy that stupid tool above. I wish I had.

And Pat, to remove the crossover tube you just unclip it if I remember, one side only, make sure you have a bolt to stick up it, .......the tube that is, and a towell ready. Oh, and don't forget to empty the tank first.
Good luck.
Ok, I got all the wires off the connecters, now how do I get the signal light wires out from the switch housing?

Patc if you got all the wires from left and right switch assembly connectors, your done. Just take off the switch assembly. Put your new bars on, then feed the cable wires if your going internal. To make things easier to pull, you could strip off the heavy casing around the cable wire, and then replace with heat shrink. Becomes much tighter, and smaller bundle, a snap to to pull through.
