Steve,
Your pipes look great......
Brent.
Thanks, Brent. I can honestly say I've gotten nothing but compliments on the Big Swoopies from my friends and other riders. Most comment about how much they like the sound, but I also have guys come up and ask what kind of pipes they are because they like how they look on the bike.
As far as the 4,000 sets sold I believe it makes a statement its not about popularity at the moment as soon as the Vance and hines duels came out they have taken a good part of the market. I do not own stock in either co. and couldn't care less what any one buys. My preference on the duels is Vance and Hines and I have my reasons. I never ask what i should buy it senseless. by the way if you do not want something every one else has your going to have to manufacture it your self all this stuff for sale is just bolt on ad ons and available to any one who is willing to peel of the bucks if only a few bought the product it would be dropped from the line offered. most company's have numbers to meet for a product to survive.. bottom line is to each his own some people have a problem with acceptance they want approval from others i am beyond that. if i like it so be it ill buy it when any one decides they want to pay for my mods ill be happy to discuss it with them. when i put up a post or reply to one i am not trying to bash any one for what they have or have not i just weight in with my two cents now and then.

RE: samson pipes good or bad?
If I were in the market for a true dual system (not duel), I wouldn't buy Samsons or Vance & Hines. I'd go with Rineharts.
P.S.- There's a difference between "everyone" and "no one." In this instance, I've yet to see another bike with a set of Samson Big Swoopies on besides my own (they're new this year) and very few Samson systems of any kind in this area. Vance & Hines? Hell, there are more bikes around with V&H than stock H-D systems! That's fine if this doesn't bother you and they make a good system, but I wanted something a little more distinctive. I don't see anything wrong in that either. Sure, I could have had a "one off" system made for my bike, but there wasn't a need. The Samson system is great and just scarce enough to satisfy my tastes.
i have the samson slashers and i love 'em. i honestly think the dealer is pulli'n your chain. of course they want to push screamin eagle products. samson pipes are the **** bro.
I have the Vance & Hines Big Shots on my Deuce and I love the way they sound. The quality is there also. I've never had Samson exhaust or talked to anyone who has them so I can't speak from any kind of experience about how they good the Samson system is. I can say that we're probably going to be getting a 1200 Sportster for my wife here soon and the exhaust we're putting on it is a the Samson Street Sweepers. They are priced very reasonably and look really good too. They're not as common as the Vance & Hines systems. As happy as I am with the Big Shots on my bike, I'm looking to switch them out with a setup less common on the road. There's been a lot of money spent on my bike to customize it, and it just isn't that CUSTOM if it's a setup seen often on other bikes.
Your question is almost like asking what religion is better on this forum!
I installed the Samson fishtails months ago and have no regrets. My opinion is that the Samson fishtails are the best looking fishtails on the market hands down. But thats just my opinion.
I have a set of samson swoopies on my bike, same pipe as trooper. These are quality pipes. I have about 2000 miles since putting them onin January and I love em. Quality made....great rumble and fine looks. To me they look and sound better than the long shots, I went with samson becauseevery bike I see has some model V&H pipe
