I had sampsons on my last bike..they did the job ok.. but overall didnt impress me. And will not buy them anymore. I just feel my money would be better spent elswhere. I had the street sweepers and they gave you a whole new dimension of loud...loud is good but they were'nt for me. I ended up putting the street sweepers on a chop saw, chopped the turnout ends off even and stuffed some Sampson baffles in them hoping to get a better sound..helped a little but not enough to change my opinion.
I've hadSamson pipes on my bike since 2000, with almost 40k on em with no issues. Heat shields are fine, I run baffles with about 1/2 the glass in em sounds great.

I love the look of the Swoopies, but how loud are they?I want rumble not extreme volume
They are loud, but not obnoxiously so. All of my buddies have complimented me on their deep, throaty, and not TOO loud sound. These pipes DO have baffles, so they're not anything as loud as drag pipes and have a much nicer tone.
i had samson street sweepers on my 2002 fxst for the first 3 years i owned it know i have v&h big radius.i think they are both great pipes i just changed them because i wanted a different look.can't go wrong with either i would stay away from screaming eagle.but that is just me..
