Default Undecided on Handlebars with Upper Controls...

O.k. looking for some help to make some decisions....I am changing my stock handlebars to some 14" apes...My problem is I don't know which direction I should go/like better....

1. chrome upper controls (Clutch+ brake Levers, switch housings, brake master cylinder, mirrors, grips, etc.) all chrome or

2. go with black for the upper controls??
(the stock switch housings and brake master cylinder are black already...I would only have to change the clutch + brake levers, and the
mirrors.)

I want to see some pics on bikes already to help me decide...[sm=confused06.gif]

Thanks...

Only thing you really need to consider imo is whether or not you want black or chrome switches. If you are ok with black switches and chrome switch housings then you can put on your apes and decide later if you want to change to chrome housings. You can just swap them out and there's no need to pull the bars off again. If you want chrome switches though you should use a new wiring harness with said chrome switches when intalling the bars. This is all assuming you are doing internal wiring. I have the stock controls with stock black switches and my preference with chrome housing is black switches as well.

Anyway... this way you can see if you like the black housings with the new bars. If not change to chrome at that point.

I went with all black controls. I had powdercoated black bars on for a while, but switched to chrome 12.5" apes. I thought about going back to chrome up top, but decided I liked everything black still.

O.K....I should have explained myself a little better...Let's try this.....I am gonna keep the black switches...Right now, the original clutch+brake lever is unpolished(same as OEM bars), mirrors are chrome right now...Front master cylinder, switches+housings, and grips are black. Basically stock!

I was considering changing everything to all black(including mirrors and levers).
Or updating everything to chrome...but wanted to see some pics of what it looks like before I order additional parts!![sm=helpout.gif]

Right now I'm at the office so I can't see pictures hosted by Photobucket or places like that, but I'm pretty sure I have some pictures that show everything better in the Softail Custom Picture Thread on page 20 or 21. I just can't see the pictures to let you know which page shows the best picture. Hope that helps.
