Can anyone give me an idea of what a custom paint job runs, something simple like black base coat with white ghost flames. I know it varies from painter to painter but just looking for an idea.

Both CNC Wheel Guy and I paid under $1k each. Both of our painters did really nice work!
We both have threads showing the details in the softail section:
Not looking for flames or skulls...more of a 3 color...something like teal, red, gray family...
If you haven't found a painter yet, check this guy out. Do a search for Marshall Canafax in Loveland CO.His website is http://www.mccustompaint.com/marshall_canafax.html He's a great guy, does awsome work. He'll want to talk to you and get inside your head so he can make your set "yours". When he did my set, he even offered to send part of it so I could check it out before everything was finalized. As far as price, talk to him.
E-mail me and I'll send you pics of my bike, can't get 'em to upload here
