I'm installing a 1.5" oil temperature gauge on my '08 Heritage.
The instructions call for removing the oil feed line and installing a "T" fitting (which holds the sending unit) in the rubber part of the line.
Has anyone done this? Looks a bit scary.
The folks on the Touring Forum speak of installing their oil temperature sending units in a spare plug near the oil drain plug. Does anyone know if the Softails have a similar (extra) plug?
Umm, do you mean an oil pressure gauge? If you want oil temperture just get one of the oil tank filler cap gauges. Lots of us have them and they work pretty darn well.

Thanks wb0 and TFB,
I already have the temp gauge (plus the base and mounting bracket along with a tach and voltmeter), so I may as well install it.
You have me thinking though. I could use the tank gauge and stick something else in the bracket hole, such as a compass or air temp gauge.
