I have the kit from http://www.bubbasbrake.com/
I have these on a Heritage Classic. All the ones I looked at, these leave the least gap between the fender and bags. The new push pin style works great.

Default RE: Quick release for Saddlebags?

First Post...Howdy all.
I have a 2004 Fatboy. I have the Softail leather saddlebags (Fatboy styling) 90320-00c I haven't installed them yet. I have been looking at some of the different quick release systems. I have seen Easy Brackets, Ghost Brackets, and Bubba's Quick Release. The Easy Brackets appear to have a cover over the lock giving them a clean look and a black plastic piece at the back of the metal bracket again giving it a clean look. The Ghost Brackets appear to have an open appearance when viewed from the back. So I think that the Easy Brackets are probably the sharpest in appearance. The docking hardware all appears to be polished stainless steel and all look sharp. So, at this point I think I am leaning toward the Easy Brackets. Any other thoughts/expierence would be great. THX
Just looked at the barebacks too thx to the earlier posts. This looks like a good system too. Why do some feel that this system is not all that simple? It looks simple enough in the adds. THX

I put barebacks on my HSC last year - they installed easy, and in my case, can now take the bags off in less than 20 seconds with no tools, and they go back on just as fast. BTW - I have the detachable sissy bar version, so maybe that makes it easier for me to get mine and off...either way, their a big bonus when it comes to washing the bike

I wish harley made them with zues fastners like the RKs are, but these are a pretty good alternative IMO, and if I want to ride without the bags, the studs are small enough to not look stupid...

The only thing I don't like about them is the lock nuts (used inside the bags) are not stainless steel so they corrode quickly if you're in a high humidity area...

I have no issues what so ever with my Barebacks.

I'm currently stock mounted (permanant bolts and a pain).

From checking out this thread I surfed Bubba's release system mentioned above... It appears to be the cleanest I've seen.. but OUCH!.. $230 smackers for the kit.. yeeeeeowwwzers. I get the impression the quality is top notch but yikes. Not much more for a set of chrome fork sliders I think. Neat design though.
