Relocating them to the forks is an easy job.I had them there ,then like you are considering I removed them completly.I decided to be somewhat legal last year when we rode to Laughlin so I installed this turn signal light bar avalaible from Pro1 in Pomona.Thay have then there on the rack.
I took Garey northfrom I-10,from there I'm not positive,but I think it was east on Bonita to the first street,then right,they're at the end of the cul de sac.
What colour is that bike.
Is it Pewter Pearl, mines a 2008 in Pewter looks great when the sun is on it but in the shade looks dull.
When I bought mine the dealer said that he had never seen one in this colour ,this sold it as all they were selling was black ones and I wanted to be different.
Not a Softail rider, but didn't like the turn signals on the bars or on the forks. Went with turn signal mirrors. Got these off eBay for $98. Pretty simple, not too gaudy and up there where they are visible. Also work as running lights and a red turn signal flashes on the mirror face when it's on. Not visible when off.
Here is a pic of my SL relocation. The best part besides cleaning up the handle bars, it was free. I picked up a couple of 5/16" x 24 SS bolts at work and cut of the ends off. I had the tank removed to get at the plugs for a handle bar swap, so it was a piece of cake getting at the plugs for the turn signals. All it took was my time and patience. You don't have to be overly mechanically inclined to perform this mod and it is worth the effort. Just waiting for my 1 1/2"White Brothers drag bars to get here to put my scoot back together.
Really thinking about going this route as well. Cheaper and cleaner than a light bar. How did you guys attach the ts to the forks. What I mean is how did you attach the actual bullet, to the 5/16" bolt?
