The end of the bolt just screws into the bullet TS. I'm thinking of using blue loctight to keep it from moving vice using a second nut. You need the nut on the tin side to keep all of the tin together as well as the thin trim piece that covers up the join.
Hey Doc. Is there a specific spacer that you used to hide the nuts? Also, did you screw the bolt into the tins and secure it with a nut and blue loctight? Followed by a spacer over the nut and then screw the TS onto the end?
Gunner,I just screwed the threaded piece(bolt) into the forks, slipped the spacer over it(no nut)then screwed the T/S housing on the other end.I used loctite on both ends. You might have to mess with it a little bit to get it to snug up,but it's not hard.I also found the spacer needed to be at least 3/8" long to allow the T/S housing to spin on on without contacting the forks. I had a pack of assorted spacers that I think I bought from J P Cycles, there were a couple in there that worked just right
