Would you put a Fuel Management system on a 2006 Heritage even though it has the HD down load? My bike has the stage I air filter K&N, SE II pipes, Big City Monster Baffles for better sound and some compression compared to straight pipes. Other than that its stock. No head work or nothing else. Pipes and air filter with the 2006 down load.
I did on mine. Had the download done and still didn't run the way it should have. Had the ECM reprogrammed to stock and installed a Power Commander. Had 510 gear driven cams installed andd dyno tuned and it now runs like a raped ape.
Well did my post just get a big FAT iggy? Come on guys give a man a break and let me hear from you. I may do this after but I dont want to waist money. I have been told yes and no by dealers and different opinions at the same dealership. Lets hear from you. [sm=feedback.gif]
you should list, if any, the mods you are going to do....I am a believer in the Power Commander...The Stock ECM or a download can't pinpoint the changes. Dialing in precisely a fuel managment system will get the most out of the bike.

Thanks for the input. I just updated my 1st post to better describe what I am working with. I was thinking the exact same thing you posted. So do you think I will see a noticable difference with what I am working with leaving it realtively stock.
If your going to leave it stock for the forseeable future a standard download "should" handle it, for now.
But if you have any ideas about doing any kind of future work to the engine, I say get aPCIII or another aftermarket managment system. They will be able to handle most of the common upgrades. For anything more extensive go for a SERT or a whole new ECM, like a Daytona or ThunderMax. With their ability to do far more than just mess with the fuel they are well able tohandle just about any part or combination of parts you can throw at them.
