well lokk at it this way......when you're riding a passenger. do you like them clinging on to you for their life? i dont like them, but i have a detachable one for my night train and i love it. i cant even tell my wife is back there anymore. and i just take it off whenever shes not riding. its a lot more expensive, but i think its worth it.

my wife wont ride with out it on all it takes is getting on the gas a little to much a little to fast and off she will go. it also comes in handy when we take long trips. i have the fold down lugage rack on mine. i dont know what we would do with all our stuff if we didnt have it.

Sissy bars are great for passengers but I really dont like the looks of them. Came up with a quick detachable design that goes on and off real quick and easy.

I like 'em. Gives some bikes a more classic look, IMHO.

Cheers!

I'm with ya Clammy. If you do it right, the sissy bar adds a nice old school look. The Softail Custom has a great look with it on.

I am of the camp of night trains are ment to be bare bones, with that said I am planning a long trip this summer and need something for the wife and the stuff. So I think my answer is, no, they do not look good, but they can be a nessessary evil. I do like that one piece detachable from HD. Has any one seen it in person?

I believe that sissy bar from Harley is the same one that comes on the Softail Custom, but it's in black. I think the pad is separate.

Yeah I saw that, but it still looks like the stock one on the Custom, just powder coated blackto match the blacked out stuff on the Cross Bones. If it's not the same one, it's definitely the same style but maybe a bit taller. I don't think so, though.

I like this one. I want a detachable also. Can you use a luggage rack with this one?
