I gotta say, I wasn't sure when I saw the heading, but on that bike, those things look sweet! I think cutting down the risers pulls it together...nice work.
So after some frustation I finally got the Z-bars installed. Running the wires internally was a tremendous hassle!
I also cut the 6" NT risers down to 3" and reused them.
I couldn't find grips that I liked in time to go for a weekend ride so I installed a pair of Renthal dirt bike grips that I had laying around. Getting grips made for 7/8th inch bars on a throttle tube made for 1 inch bars was as fun as wiring the bars!
Here's pics.
Hey baron what are the dimensions on those bars???
I was never a huge fan of the Z bars, but they look pretty cool on your bike! It might sound odd, but what I really dig are those grips. I like the understated, one off kind of stuff. Cool bike bro.
those are some pretty sharp bends to run wires through , gratz on getting them working first try !
looks great on your bike , and i also think the grips look good , i'd think twice about replacing them (but if you've already got new ones on order you might feel like you have to change)
bars look great ! next time when your running the wires you might want to try a little electricans wire lube /soap. it make the wires slippery creating less drag , a little goes a long way. a quick substitute would be a little dish soap but its not as thick. nice job
