The whole purpose of new pipes is more sound. They will certainly do that, but I run the Big Shots with Thunder baffles. It sounds the best of ANY pipes I have heard on a Harley. Wallace in Georgia
Unless you master the art of starting the bike in gearand releasing the clutch with nothing more than idle speed to leave the neighborhood, you WILL **** off the neighbors. They are loud, but sound sooooo good.
as your coming down the 25mph subdivision street late and early morning when all the lights are out and its about time for people to sleep or get up. rev that baby up rap them pipes and say hi neighbors its a great day for a ride.
seriously they got to be loud as hell. i just put on the big radius and they are loud iam going to have to be a little LOL consious of what i do as i get home at about midnight or later.
I have the short shots with the baffles in place. They are loud but not obnoxious. With the baffles out they are crazy loud. And they have a very aggressive tone, not mellow like the big shots. They are very mean sounding pipes, if you have neighbors you may want the baffles in.
I run V&H Big Shot Staggered on 06 Heritage Classicwith Thunder Baffles also.Great sounding pipes, loud but that is what I like. IRide with 4 other bikes with the V&Hpipes, sure gets the attention of the the neighbors when coming up the street. Not to mention the car alarms going off. I have to say the Big Shot Staggered, Long Shots or the Short Shots are the one of the best sounding pipes, though they maybe notbe the best performance pipes, they also look good.
My neighor has an 01 fatboy with the Short Shots
HER bike is LOUD .... not that I'm offended by the noise or anything [8D]
her husband has an 06 Street Glide with Samson tru duals with Fishtails
and you can't hear his when she cranks hers
I've got the V&H Q Series with quiet baffles on mine , they're
loud but not obnoxious unless you crack the throttle
I also have a set of V&H Big Shot Longs with quiet baffles installed
that are less than a year old that are laying unused in a back bedroom ..HINT HINT
I have the V&H BSS and when I first heard them on another bike, they were very loud and had too much of a bark. I added the quiet baffles that V&H have, which only takes it down about 2-3 db's. but what I like about them is they make for a much lower, bass like, rumble...they sound awesome...but you certainly won't be sneaking out of your driveway without everyone hearing them!
I love mine. No complaints yet.
I do have two other Harleys on my street with aftermarket pipes so I'm not alone.
Just get your neighbors to all buy Harleys
