Default Lowering The Bike...

Hello again,

I just ordered a Lowering Kit for my bike (05 Deuce) and I'm thinking of just lowering it from the rear, Would it look better?, or I should lower the front side too?

P.S. : I'm planning to install 21" wheel front and 18" wheel rear.

Thank You.

I believe in lowering both front and rear like I did on my Roadglide. I think it looks and handles better. Of course, that's just my opinion.

Terry,

I lowered my Road Glide front and rear also, and I would agree with you about looking and handling better on our Glides but I only lowered the rear on my Fatboy and think it looks better on Softtails. Just my 2 cents.

You'll be fine with just lowering the rear. Only lowered the rear on mine and the handling is still right on. For both looks and handling that's the way to go, in my opinion.

Your bike will look great with the rear lowered. One of my few complaints about the stock Deuce was always the amount of gap between the rear fender and tire. A lowering kit changes the whole look of the bike -- for the better!

Enjoy!

I have an 04 Fatboy. Wife or kids are almost always on with me. In lowering the bike, will the rear tire ever bottom out on the fender? Does lowering the bike have any drawbacks? Thx

my last nightrain was lowered and it looked a lot better than stock
but the only draw back was i hardly get to ride alone either the wife or kids on the back
and every corner i was scraping the pipes or frame so i am leaving my new one stock height ...

lowered mine front and rear, I like trhe look better for my big heavy lookin fatboy, but for a deuce just the rear looks fine ,as for ride its just going to be harsher as you will remove some of the travel of your suspension, you will drag pipes , floorboards more and if you have a passenger you probably will bottom out on occasion, that said It just looks great , do it.
