The most of you agreed on the engine guard so I'll keep it on my bike.

I put one on my Springer Classic becouse on that bike I like the look's of the old style crash bar on that bike I think it add's to the style of the bike. And that's the same reason I don't have one on my 87 Softail Chopper.

Just my spin on the engine guard use – I had one on my 1200 XLC Sportster & sort of adopted it’s use on the Deuce. At first, it hit me that it took away from the lines of the Deuce & even though I really don’t mind the way it blends into the bike lines - I don’t think it will ever look like it should be there…
However, I feel that if I do something dumb – such as: forget to have the bike in 1st on a hill, have the jiffy stand push into soft asphalt & tip the bike over, you drop the bike for whatever reason – the guard will certainly help.
Harley is careful to explain the engine guard is not a crash guard – just so you don’t think that you’ll have any significant protection in a moving accident.
Now after several years – I’ve gotten to like it just fine…… The engine guard is also a convenient place to place the EZ-Pass on or highway Pegs, if that’s what you want to do.
If the shape is brothering you perhaps the Lindby Engine Guard is for you –some folks like the look better than the hoop look….
