Default quiet baffles

I've got the v&h big shots staggered. Was wondering what the quiet baffles are like other than being quieter, obviously. Is there a different or deeper tone to them?

From what i could find out they are quieter than the old baffles. The QB are EPA compliant.

Jeff,

Went to the quiet baffles a few months ago. I LIKE THEM. They offer more backpressure to the engine. Seems to me the bike power band on the low end is much more usable with higher torque. I believe the top end horsepower takes a hit but who rides around at 5000 RPMs all day.

Noise lever is about 2db lower as advertised which is about 1/3rd quieter. Bike was too loud before with a tiny sound. Now it is much more mellow.

One other note. You will need to chainge you Fuel Pack map with the quiet baffles. The Air Fuel Mixture is a little different. You will also notice decel pop going away with the quiets.... Take care,
Mike

Mike is right-on, and I have had the QBs for about 2 months now and like the new sound.

Over time they will get a little louder as some of the fiberglass burns/blows out a bit. A new map into my FuelPak was easy and I have said goodbye to decel popping.

Don't worry, the sound is still all Harley!

Forgot to say
Cut a piece of wood to fit inside the baffle tight
align the set screw holes exactly
A little oil so the baffle slides in smoothly
use a small pin to locate the set holes

Set your screw with some blue lock tite
I use stainless steel screw for this domed allens

Hey, how hard was it to change out the baffles? I can feel and see the screws. Do you have to take off the heat shields...I have the VH BSS on my fatboy, and they are LOUD!! If it was an easy in and out, might try the quiet baffels...any info would be appreciated//thanks

Thanks for the feedback. I think I will try them as I think I would like more of a deep rumble than the "tinny" sound that others have talked about. Tinny is a good nameto describe it.
