I had a similar post in the New Members area, but realised that it probably was the wrong place to ask the question. I have reviewed most "Rocker" threads, but still have the question about accessories, of which there are only a few (In the Harley Book). My bike is on order but the first thing I want to do is get rid of the pegs, anyone have any suggestions what can be fitted, as the originals have an odd bend at the joint. Also thinking of Remus slip-ons as these have removable baffles, so less hassle at vehicle inspection time.
I replaced my stock pegs with Harley's centerline collection (grips, pegs, and braker and shift peg). The book says they will not fit but they fit great. As far as other "stuff", there is really not much out yet due to the late release and the new specs that the Rocker has, i.e. wider swingarm is preventing most aftermarket pipe installations. I am waiting on the V&H 2-2 Big Radius. Fitment issues should be resolved around May, according to a tech at VH that I spoke to yesterday. I am thinking of trying to buy some inexpensive slip ons to tide me over, as the stock stuff is pretty lame.
I have the lower chrome debris cover (belt guard) and some hot topppers installed. I plan to chrome out the hand controls and change the mirrors, along with the Stage 1 with the pipes.
The aftermarkets will be putting out some accessories soon, but as of now the choices are limited. Patience Grassphopper!!
I replaced my pegs with HD Willie G. Skull Footpeg Kit. They fit fine, but I was told the reason bend and the extra tip was so the peg would hit before the frame. With the standard pegs, the frame may be able to contact the ground prior to the peg.
As far as the pipes go. I contacted V&H yesterday and was told the only problem was the mounting bracket and that we shouldn't expect to see anything until June. However, a fellow Rocker is taking orders for a bracket he made so the V&H will work. Here's a link:
