does anyone else have any issues with the quick detach clamps leaving rub/wear marks on the forks? I asked the dealership if it were any problem when buying it, but they said it didn't leave any wear/rub marks. Mine is doing it and it's- making me mad.
Edit: what I really meant was HD Quick release windshield- clamp style. Opps.
Mine did on an FXST that I had. It wasn't rubber marks but the clamps had a protective tape on the inside of them. That eventually wore off and it was metal rubbing metal. I just used some heavy duty scotch tape and replaced the barrier. Problem solved.
After that though have to check them periodically to replace.
I haven't had any problems with this on mine. However, I could see if the black composite inserts on the clamps popped out and you didn't notice that this could cause some scratching. My brother had his inserts pop out the last time he took off his windshield and told me to be careful of this when I remove mine. Just thought I would pass along the information.
Out of curiosity, has anyone else experienced this problem with their quick detachable windshield??
