Default HD Bullit T/S installation

I have a 2008 Heritage Softail and haven't bought a manual yet. Today I ordered a set of bullit turn signals from a Harley dealer so I thought I would strip the old ones off and be ready for the new ones when they come. The rear ones seem a pretty straight forward installation as I am getting the shorter mounting bar, however, the front poses a question. When I took the two screws out of a front T/S I noticed there was a ground wire that unplugs and two wires that disappear into the turn signal making an unplug unlikely. The wires leave the T/S, and travel along with an outside sheath, with the running lights to a connector under the seat. OK, finally getting around to the question. Has anyone installed the HD bullit T/S lights? If so, how do you disconnect the wires going into the turn signal and do you have to destroy the sheathing that also houses the running lights, all the way back to the connector under the seat? Any help would be appreciated.

You have to disconnect under the tank. The wires are about 2 feet long.

Whoa...now I am really confused. I have posted on another forum and two guys have told me you have to cut the wires and splice. Did you replace your stocks with HD bullets? I would love to be able to unplug the connectors under the tank but it seems strange that HD would give you 2 feet of wire (Of course you are really paying for it...they don't give you anything at the scoot place)!
lol

Can do either, cut/splice or pull the plug. To splice you don't have to remove or partially remove tank. Just splice it behind headlight and put some shrink wrap on it, never see it after it is done.Or youjust slide tank back to get at plug on right side of motorbike. The wires are 2' long in case you decide to pull tank off or slide tank back, unconnect plug and pull the t/s wire out of plug. Then install new wire/Turn Signal into plug and plug it back up. Long wires because everyone will come up with some crazy *** way to route the wires...........so they give you plenty. I was you, I'd cut and splice/heat shrink it.

Thanks Gramps...it's nice to know I have the option. I am comfortable with the cut and splice.
