Just installed a set of the Poly's with my Ape installation. They are much more solid and don't shift like the Rubber ones. Most people upgrade to them during a Riser/Handlebar swap.

I had a nice set of apes crack in half on me due to the original rubber bushings. They allowed flex in the risers no matter how much I tightened them down. This allowed the bars and risers to twist when I would steer. Eventually that torquing of the bars started to crack them. I replaced the whole thing with poly bushings, shorter risers, and of course new bars. Don't waste your time with the rubber ones.

If your going with a tall riser or any kind of apes, your better off with the poly bushings...The rubber stock bushings flex too much!!

I had the rubber for 1 week after my ape's were installed thinking I would get used to the play, but
I never did so I went with the poly. Hindsight is always 20/20

I’m glad I ask.
If the vibration with poly bushing is not an issue,
then I’ll be making the switch when I have my new 3†risers installed.
Thanks

I am still running the rubber bushings b/c I did not know about the poly ones at time of installing my 12.5" apes. I don't really have an issue with movement or anything so I have left them alone, however, I will swap to poly's at some point. Thinking of going to 16's at some point, so I would definately change before doing that.

Yup, I was advised to go with the Polly's when I changed out the bars. Glad the dude on the forum told me.
