I had rubber when I put the 16's on my Fatboy . I also could not get use to the flex . Put the Poly in , was definitely the right thing to do IMO . Some say there may be less vibration with rubber but I did not notice it at all after I switched
rode mine with the rubber for quit awhile after putting on 16 apes kept tightening them down finally changed to the poly ones at 85/90 or so the vibration is more but that is all I ever notice and no more retightening just ride it..
I went to polyurethane bushings after I switched to apes on Reaper. With the rubber bushings, the bars moved a lot, about 2 or 3 inches total, pivoting on the bushings. They also got cockeyed so were not lined up straight on the top triple tree. Going to the poly bushings solved all that.
Just installed a set of the Poly's with my Ape installation. They are much more solid and don't shift like the Rubber ones. Most people upgrade to them during a Riser/Handlebar swap.
