Default Polyurethane risers bushings explained...sort of

Someone asked about the poly bushings, where they go and what they do. They replace the stock rubber riser bushings in the top triple tree for the risers. The keep the risers from flexing as they would with tall bars such as apes. Google Poly bushings to see what they look like.

stiff to a point of being solid ..not much give in them..ive used poly bushings in my cars and 4x4;s they are deffinetly a great upgrade, but again do not have much give, and may transfer to much vibrations into the bars and up to the grips causing numb hands..i say MAY but i beleive it WILL imo
the bars on my crossbones move to much for my liking ,but i dont want numb hand so im leaving the rubbers in until i can see/feel the urythane bushings in action..great thread topic should generate lots of discussion

When i was looking around for new risers for my crossbones i did so with the intention of switching to poly bushings to keep my bars from moving. The risers that i went with are solid and actually have nothing in the way of bushings. Bars are rock solid and i did a 100 mi. today with no numbing in my hands.

Im with RN on this one. when i swapped bars on my bones i searched everywhere for poly bushings but from what i found they dont make them for the 08 and up springers yet. I went with solid mounts and love them. The harley motors these days dont send near the vibrations through the bike like the older one's did.

I don't experience numb hands with poly bushings, but if you do get some Kuryakyn ISO grips. they will absorb the vibrations.

I put the polys in my NT a year or so ago when I put the slammer bars on and I felt more vibrations but it was all new and different set up so I thought nothin of it, but when I swapped too the Pro1 triple tree I used they're bushings and it felt tighter than previous set up, but maybe a combo of new tree and bushings idk. 100 different folks 95 different answers right. Ha ha ha
