I have the same concerns. I have a tach on my handlebars but it says that the tach won't work with the risers, which sucks because I would love to bring the handlebars up and back to improve the ride.
I would think the ride is more important than the tach. I'd get the risers and find another way to mount the tach.
After mounting the new risers on mine, I couldn't believe the difference in the comfort level. I'm an old guy whose belly is growing but the arms are shrinking. I can now sit back and enjoy the ride instead of leaning forward and getting all cramped up.
I've been getting some arm fatigue as well as in the lower back. Question Risers vs Seat. I've also been looking at the Mustang seat with rider backrest. Might be I'll be needing to look at both.
Try asking DannyD. LOL
Differant thread but some people are lookin' for 2" up and 2" back.
Thanks for the bump. Guess I'll have to read it all later. Wife callin'. She can live without me. LOL
I have a set of 4.5 inch pull back risers with the top Harley Davidson clamp that I will sell someone pretty reasonable. I had them on my Heritage but have decided to go another route, I did not have to lenghten any cables either. i will get some pictures on ASAp or e-mail me for any info.
Thanks
Tim
I bought and installed LA Choppers risers with my stock bars and it was much more comfortable and handled better too. I have went to mini apes and would consider selling my old risers. They are 4-5" and bent back toward rider. See pics. $100 and I'll pay shipping. You will need to extend wiring and cables. They are set for 1.25" bars.
