I have an 05 Fat Boy and am feeling like I need risers on my bars. I just always feel like I am reaching too much? Has anyone else felt like this, and added risers to their bike? What were your resluts?
I have went through a couple sets of bars and had different risers on each. They are a great way to get a little more comfortable. You just need to look at the angle and try to decide which ones you want. Try this. Sit on your bike on flat ground. put your arms to your side and relax with your eyes closed and then slowly put your hands where you feel your bars should be. Then open your eyes. Try it a couple of times. It helps to have someone watch with you. Hope this helps.
I did put on 4 1/2" pullback risers on just a couple of months ago. I got them from Kuryikan and the cost wasn't much. I forgot what it was. It made the BIGGEST difference in the bike to date. I had shoulder pain, arm pain, and some back pain before putting them on because I was reaching too far out and too low. Now, the ride is just the way I want it to be. I highly recommend it.
BA
I started out small, with 2 1/2 inch risers. Then I kept the risers and put a set of Heritage bars on it. What a difference. Shoulder fatigue is pretty much a thing of the past now.
Questions to those who have them installed...
1: Do you have to replace the handlebar top clamp when you install these? Won't the stock clamp work?
2: How did you extend the brake line when you installed the risers?

2: How did you extend the brake line when you installed the risers?
1: I used HD#56296-05. It came with different handlebar clamps. The stock clamp would not work.
2: Didn't need to extend the brake line. There was plenty of "play" in the lines.
HD4ME,
That is agreat idea. I have been thinking about the risers myself. Thanks for the info.
I think I'll have another Jack and Coke on this one.[sm=crossbonesgif.gif]
I just put a set of HD pullback risers on my '02 Fatboy this weekend. What a difference!!!! I have that short arm syndrome and was always leaning forward. Now it's like sitting in the recliner.
