Much appreciated. My speedo low fuel light comes on at about 160kms (100mi) but fillingthe tankthen i can only put about 12-13 liters (3.17-3.43gal) into the tank... so i guess my point is the warning light on the speedo comes on very early anyways. The OEM gauge normally is just starting to hit red. I aim for about 200kms (125mi) before i start looking for gas stations which still gives me a good fuel buffer, even if the OEM gague and the low fuel light tell me different. I've never had it take more than 15-16 liters (3.9-4.2gal). NB: all these distances are city riding.
I totally agree with you, the LED flush mount looks awesome... and given the OEM gauge preformance i don't think LED could do any worse.
I've got a rear tyre shot in my gallery. Have a look and if you want something more let me know... i can't do it this weekend though, my stealer is dyno tuning the bike and despite his advice it would be ready this afternoon... it isn't so it'll be Monday before i get it back.
Good info. I am installing the Kuryakyn LED guage on my Springer but wanted a low profile set like the one described here for my wife's Deuce.
The Kuryakyn model allows you to calibrate it to tell it when the low fuel light should come on. Does the HD version have the same ability?

Installed the Kuryakyn set on my Heritage. The low fuel light in the speedo comes on when the tank is full till about 1/2 gal is used. I wrote Kuryakyn about this and was told to completely cut the yellow/white wire coming from the speedo and attatch it to the gray wire from the guage. They say to "splice it"in the directions but really mean to do it they way he stated. Sooooooooo, just have to get busy and tear the dash off agian. [sm=wootwoot.gif]
Bump of an old thread before I install this 62811-08 kit on my 07 Deuce. Did they have any part updates to this in the last year or so? I'm reading that there are issues with this kit and that there was an updated part # for at least the Dynas. I bought my kit in 12/08 and it's been sitting in the box since. Seems like a very simple install but I'm weary of even trying if I'll have issues.
