Your choice is good, Fat Boys are cool and yes the 07/08 are the better ones. If you really want to save money, wait until late July or August, that'swhen the '09's start rolling out, any left over from the previous year model will be reduced and they will be more likely to negotiate, specially with the '07s, if any. Just tell the stealer what you want andto putyou on "their cheap list", lol. Good luck.
THE NEW FATBOY ARE RUNNING TO HOT. I DON'T THINK THE MOTORS CAN HOLD UP: BIG MAC
I ridden my 2007 in over 100 degree weather last summer.....no problems at all. All I've done is a remap of the EFI and SE exhaust.....Also running it with dino in all 3 holes. I personally think my '97 Fatty ran hotter than my current 2007.
I had a choice of an '06 with little KM's on it or an '08 with the fatter rear end and 96". I figurered I would be keeping it for a very long time, so I opted for the '08. No regrets what so ever.
+1 on 05 and older. no heat issues. alot could be done with the difference. something to do in the winter months. LOTS of nice, older, low mile bikes out there for way less. most will already have half the **** you'd be looking to add. tons of aftermarket stuff. ablity to cross over parts between othermodels.(fatboy,deluxe,heritage). except for the 200 tire. doesnt do a whole lot for me personally. six speed would be nice at times. i personally like the carb models better. my .02 cents.
I go an 2006 Fat Boy with less than 2500 miles for $10,500. I love it. The TC 88 is a great match for the 5 speed tranny. It is perfect for me. After 65 mph I wish I had another geer, but I don't like going faster the 65, so no problem. Saved myself $7,000 ofer an 07.
Love my 08 guys but get your check book out. That old addage about the HD and the $100 dollar bill has now turned into a $1000 dollar bill. I've done the stage one with vance and hines, se tuner, and se high flow. Couldn't stand it so I had the 103 big bore kit w/255 cams installed, lotsa midrange now but between the bags and a small amount of chrome, I've sunk some bucks into this baby and I've got a lot I'd still like to do like wheels, highway bars, etc. Mommy is going to kill me!
