Default Stage 1 in Cali vs Texas

Got suckered into moving to California for my job, promised to stay five years (it's been six) and am now returning to Texas. I'll move this summer during the kids school break.
I have a 08 Heritage and it's time to do the Stage 1.
My question is there a benefit in waiting anddoing it in Texas vs. California?

Regards,
Mark

Buying a place just west of Ft. Worth, north of Weatherford in Parker county. Moving to Cali wasn't all bad, had to move to the country to get away from the fruits and nuts, found out I like living in the country.
Do they smog bikes in Texas?

No emissions crap here, not for bikes anyway. Welcome back to the "Great State" of Texas. I was over in Parker County on Friday. I took a ride out to Strawn, TX and had a huge chicken fried steak at Mary's Cafe. It was nice ride and a great meal.

I miss Texas. Moved there in 1985 and stayed for 3 months in Houston. Quite a place. Thought I would have no problems finding a job. Bad time to try and move. Ended up in California, which I hated. Couldn't wait to leave that state. Loved it in 76, but in 86, it got like, uh, poseesed by the devil or something.

In South Florida now. Boring. Same thing every day, over and over again, no end to the BS here. Wouldn't mind central florida, but I am stuck because there's no way I can sell my house right now. The market is terrible. Playing wait and see.

Is your bike a CA or other state bike?

No significant difference between them as I have come to find out. The main addition to CA bikes is the charcoal cannister for the fuel tank overflow and CA exhaust. Either way though, if you are going Stage I, it isn't going to matter where the bike came from. Getting the work done in CA isn't that hard - at least it hasn't been for me.

No beneift wither way unless cost is an issue. Shop to see what state will be cheaper. Then do what Nike does.........just do it.
