North Texas
Ok, so the wifey, horses, and dogs are moving to Aubrey Tx in July. (Moving to Texas in July .... yikes). Anyway, seems to be some great riding up there (and in Texas generally). I know of the R.O.T. rally, but missed it for this year.
I guess what I'm asking is what are the good riding circuits that go into some of the smaller towns?
Thanks in advance.

You really need to ride the Texas Hill Country.. Up around Bandera, Medina, and over to Leakey and ride the Three Sisters roads.. 337 over that way is beautiful, but a bit dangerous, and 335 over there has the most exotic game ranches in Texas, and you would love it all.. then there's the rides down to rockport and port aransas, one thing to remember is we can pretty much ride all year round down here....Of course San Antonio isn't to bad around here either...
there are alot of nice country roads up there in the Northern portion of Texas
Plus you are close to some nice roads in the Oklahoma area as well
then you have the 3 sisters and the piney woods of east Texas...
take in Munster Texas for some great German Food and if you can take in the Fest some time in the same
there is West Texas for more German Food
Stephenville has the Hard 8 for a nice novalty ride in the country and good BBQ
There is a place called the loco coyote on Glen Rose off 67
then there is the Horney toad cafe in Morgan Mills cash only there biker bar
Just to name a few I enjoyed
paul
Pm me some time and well get together and ride some time...

I don't know where you are coming from, but if you are new to Texas, Welcome. You can wear out that Ultra traveling the fine roads of Texas. From the desert southwest and west, to the hill country, to the piney woods of East Texas, there is something for you to see. Fill up your tank and head out and enjoy. You'll find most Texans very friendly. Make sure you visit the San Jacinto battlegrounds, the Alamo, and the mission at Goliad the get your mind right on the true Texas attitude.
I've lived in many countries in this world, but I never doubted that I would return to my home in this great state. It is just that good!

You are just a few miles from 455, a great little bike road across Collin County and Denton county. From 75 over past Celina is the best part of the road. Well, the west end is good too since it ends up in Sanger, where Babes Chicken is located... You will like that place.
There are other county and FM roads around you. It's just a matter of getting out there and riding.
Welcome to North Texas. There are a bunch of riders and riding groups around here so you should be able to find some folks to ride with if you enjoy that. Good places to eat as well. Cattlemans cafe in Blue Ridge, Hucks catfish up near Denison, Clarks BBQ in Tioga, the list goes on and on.
Good luck with the July move.... October would be better, but I also moved here in July years ago... I feel your pain.
