Hows is going everyone? This is probably a newbie question, but I have to ask. The choke on my bike is not staying out. I had read that all I have to do it twist a little ring behind the choke. I tried that, but the ring wont move. Any other ideas!
Now that the weather is breaking here in New England im getting real antsy. I've been trying to get as much ridin in as possible. 55 degrees never felt so much like 90.
There is only one CORRECT way to tighten that cable. They break easily and do so because people do it wrongly. Do not tighten the outside plastic knurled **** while its attached to the bracket. If you do, you will eventually cause it to crack and will be shelling out $27 for a new cable.
Loosen the back 11/16" metal nut (think that's the size).
Let the cable fall free.
Pull the **** out. It should slide back in.
Tighten the knurled **** a little.
Pull **** out and see if it returns. If not, then you're good or you can snug it up a bit more. If not, repeat.
Slide cable back into bracket and tight the 11/16' metal nut just enough so it holds the cable in the bracket.
You won't break the cable with this method. If you try tightening it in the bracket you will be like thousands of others who eventually suffer cable breakage.
no help here I have never used my choke /just twist the trottle once then hit the start button
starts right up sometimes you have to keep it running a little but usually just ride it away.
then again I live in so cal and it'w 80 today

Same here, leave the choke alone. Twist the throttle twice and pop it off and keep it running. Works for me in northern Illinois. Rev it up a little and lock the throttle until she's warm, then ride on!!!
