OK. This is my first Harley, but one of the first things I noticed is that there is no gas gauge. It's a 1998 softail custom. would there have been one originally? How hard is it to add one? Or do I just check the gas mileage and try to remember when to gas up?
Shane
I can't answer your specific question but I can pass on the following...
The gas guage on my 03 only works right when its full so I just go by the trip meter...if I'm pushing it sometimes, I'll have to go to reserve but that's only happened a few times so IMO the guage is worthless. The wifes sportster doesn't have one at all so she has to pay attention to the trip meter too...
