i sold my '99 RoadKing to get this bike, and i knew there would obviously be a difference in ride,
the RoadKing is argueably the most comforatable bike in the world,
but this softail with a springer front end (neither known for the best of rides) mixed with a sprung seat is really awesome
i'm lovin' it
and i didn't really say that the springer wasn't a 'great' ride, just that it might not be the 'best' ride,
shox have advanced a long way since tossing a couple springs up front, but i am still a springer fanatic,
i have a '95 springer and a '63 pan with a springer front end, and now this CrossBones,
i guess you could say i'm sold on them,
i have to sell the '95 but still the same i think they are great
thats why i was sayin that the difference between a springer with and without a sprung seat is interesting
You are going to enjoy the XBones. Every where I stop people come over to check it out. Right now they are far and few in between since I was told that each dealer only got an allotment of 3 this year.
Sarge ... not sure you noticed but you seat springs need some pumping up ....
BTW - looking fwd to seeing some serious mods in the coming year , I really like the xbones and shame that my budget doesn;t stretch to a 2nd bike.
I think you made a good move. I picked up my boner on Saturday just in time for the rain to start[:@]but I also am very impressed with the ride. On longish sweeping bends it seems to hold a line much better and is much steadier than my Dyna was (07 Bob).
I can't wait for a bit more free time to enjoy it.
