I've read on the forum that HD would only have 3 crossbones delivered to each dealer, and only ordering after that, any one got any info or updates... just wondering.... if this will become a big production bike or be on the limited side.???
Comments I've heard from people, that there is not enough chrome on that bike to buy it ??? ok?!
they are out there, although getting them in the color you want may be tough. it seems the vivid black is the most popular and hardest to find. i've seen the flat black, blue and pewter ones in several dealerships, but it took me about a week to have them locate me a vivid black. kinda lucked out that the dealer had one delivered to a sister shop and sent it down for me. getting it in the morning, come on sunrise!!!
My local dealer has had no problem getting them, they just recently recieved a olive green that looks great. The only color they have not had yet is the pewter. But they have had about 7 total so far, so I would say the 3 per dealer is not true.
I ordered Olive Pearl in February and am getting it tommorrow. Actually I heard that the initial allocation was 5 per dealer, so availability will probably thin out once we get into the season. Of course it they are not selling as anticipated, you'll be seeing them on the floor into the summer. My understanding is that Harley took a beating for having too much dealer inventory so they are carefully metering production based on demand. Production will undoubtadely be less this year due to our economic climate.
There is a blue one on the floor at orange county harley in so. cal.. I saw someone on the flat black one riding the other day, from what the dealer told me it sold in less than two hours from the time it hit the floor.
