Default KURYAKYN ERGO-GUARDS ???

Anyone out there have KURYAKYN ERGO-GUARDS on a Deluxe?? THey're substantially more $$$ than the Cruise Arms, so I'd like to preview them before dropping all that cash.

I have them on my Deluxe, but have not done an extended highway cruise in order to try the fold out extended pegs. Too cold to have that air going up the pant legs. A riding buddy also installed them on his Heritage. I, or rather, my son, did the installation. Oddly, one of the sections of the bars had not been tapped all the way for a bolt. Took that piece back to my HD dealer and Kuryakyn quickly sent a replacement. As you know, the bars also come with a chrome brake pedal. It comes up at a slightly higher angle than the stock pedal, but you quickly adjust to it. The new pedal doesn't have a pad on it, and you can pull off your old HD pad with a little effort and slip it on. My buddy said he had to adjust the way he shifts due to some interference with the toe of his boot, but I have not noticed that on my Deluxe. I really like the look and the concept, but cannot give an up or down on the ergonomics during an extended cruise. Sorry, no picture for the moment. I'll have to get one of my technically minded kids to take a picture and email it to me.

I have them on my Heritage and I love them. You can change the brake pad, but I didn't on mine. I've ridden probably 200 miles or so since installing them around Christmas. So far, I've ridden more with them in than extended. Anyway, I'm real happy with mine.

I just got a set of Kury ErgoGuards for my 05 Heritage Softail Classic.Last night I pulled off the shifter lever and lowered it. I am worried that I still will not have enough clearance for my boot on the floorboards and to be able to place my heel on the Kury Guards foot peg in the inside position with out risking accidentally shifting gears. I can't use it for toe shifting anymore now but have to down shift with themytoe and up shift with myheel.Wish I had known this before I bought them.
I see you have a Heritage Softail Classic too. How did you get around the proble with the shifter lever?

I've had them on my Heritage since May and love the fold out peg. I use them in for around town, keeps the lines looking good. I relpaced the brake arm but afterwards realized it really wasn't necessary, had no problems with toe shifting, but I do sometimes let my toe slide under the gard and try to shift. Two words of caution, I'm already seeing signs of surface corrosion (rust) so I'm not sure about the quality of their plating process so keep a good coat of wax on them at all times. I'm planning on replating them this winter. Second, make sure you loc-tite the set screw that adjusts the angle of the fold out peg. My right side screw came out and it took a call to the tech department to find the correct thread size, had to use a chrome phillips screw as a replacement, nobody carries the allen head cap-screw. All in all, I'm happy with them.

Did you have enough clearance foryour foot on the floorboards and to be able to placeyour heel on the Kury Guards foot peg in the inside position with out risking accidentally shifting gears? Did you lower your shifter?

Also, I don't know about using the stock brake arm...my Kury Guards are level with the break and there is no way to place you foot on the inside position with out pressing down on the rear break. I don't see how you could use the stock brake arm with the Kury Guards pegs folded inside. Do you have a pic of your set up?

I have never had anyl trouble with my shifter. I use the heel to toe shifter and it has never been an issue. I have also noticed some of the plating giving way. Most of mine though is from road grime hitting them. I really like the way they feel.
