Fatboy - I'm 6'5" - changed to the badlander seat and 4" risers on the bars (when I had the stock bars)...now I'm running tall apes and love the ride even more.

For the seat I did exactly what big mike did. First time I saddled up on her it gelt like a totally different bike! 1000000% better than that stock POS seat (but it does look nice...)

dwilzen, I always loved the fatboy, it's probably my favorite bike next to the fat boy. I would agree with many others, pic the one you like best, and mod it to fit you. Just my $.02

Now that would be cool best of both worlds... either one you chose you'll be happy!
Both great bikes and well liked.

Good advise citoriplus!

Dwilzen1, I have both models.

I definitely sacrificed comfort for cool looks on the train. Lowered suspension, low profile solo seat, 4 inch risers, fwd controls, drags bars, obnoxious exhaust pies and a low stretched out seating position. I can log about 2 hours before I need a rest stop and my *** is numb and my ears are ringing. I love it! The wife will not ride the night train with me. She says it feels like her uterus is going to fall out.

The fat boy is a way more comfortable ride. The wide seat, wide handle bars and floor boards are a great combo. You can continuously move your feet and knees while sitting in a comfortable upright seating position. Add the detachable windshield and saddle bags and I can ride this bike non stop. The wife and kids love to ride this bike all day long.

If I could only keep one bike I would keep my train.

Both softails and with unlimited modification possibilities you could have the best of both worlds. It’s your wallet, Go with the one you like the best. Just my .02

I found a picture of a train that now looks like a blacked out fatboy. What do you think?
