I own a 2003 deuce softtail and I have a recurring problem. The engin light comes on periodically. The first time was 2 years ago and the problem progressed with a stalling problem and a rough ( very rough) engin ride. The dealership replaced the bike piece by piece until they decidedI has a cracked throttle body which they replaced. The problem began again about 8 months ago and when I brought it back to the dealership all they could find after having it for a month was a set screwon the throttle body that had loosened itself.I live in Massachusetts so I winterized the bike and put it up for the winter. This year is about 300 miles old and I was getting up to Highway speed and the engin light came on...
I ride alot. The bike is approaching 40,000 miles and iswell taken care of. I have an extended warranty that runs out in June. I hesitate to bring it to the dealership and loose the use for another long stretch. any ideas or similar issues would be gratefully accepted.
have you tried to pull the codes? That would give you some info. Does engine light come on and it runs like "stuff" or does it continue on pretty good?
I would have them run the engine codes to try and figure out what the problem is. I had an 06 fatboy that I put 40,000 miles on and my check engine light never came on.
