Last week the check engine light came on and the bike went into safe. It is an 08 Ultra. Took it to the Dealer and the codes were P0505,P2135, P1511 and C1095. They cleared the codes and test rode it (they said that is what the HD states to do). It ran fine for about 50 miles. Tonight when I turned it on, the system ran through okay, and the check engine light came on 4 seconds later and stayed on for 8 seconds, then went out again. The bike seems to run fine. I did the self diagnostics myself and the codes that came up are: P1511 and P2135, followed by Pn32933-08 and PSSPE6. Any suggestions?
My throttle position sensor wore out around 35,000. Showed similar codes. Ran fine though. Probably wouldn't have known if the light hadn't come on.
If the engine light is not staying on, it's working ok again. The engine light comes back on for a few seconds then turns off when you have stored code to let you know it's there. Mine did the same thing. I'd reset everything and it would last a day or two and come back.
Don't clear the codes. Take it back and tell them this is twice and that they need to replace the part. It's an easy fix under warranty. Should take them about 15 minutes.....if they have the part
I have an 09 Ultra. Coming home from work this week, flipped on the cruise switch and instantly got a check engine light and lost all throttle response. Pulled over to the side of the road, turned off the ignition and let the bike sit for maybe 30 seconds. It fired up and ran normally. I repeated this 4 or 5 times on the way home to verify the exact sequence. It was definitely flipping on the cruise that triggered the problem. The codes were P1511 and P2135. Still working to narrow down the cause.
It is at the Dealer, they are looking for the throttle position sensor. It is on back order from HD. They are also checking some area dealers. Thanks to all that responded.
