Engine light after start up
I took the bike in for some Dyno work. Bike runs great and numbers went up. I notice now though that after I start the bike, waiting of course for the engine light to go out first after preparing to start, that the engine fires over and then the engine light comes on for about 5 seconds. Goes away right after and doesn't come on again.
Should I worry?
Anybody else run into this problem as well?

That usually means there is a code stored .. Go thru the list to check for a trouble code and record the code (just incase you forget and for the dealer that did the work) then clear it and see if it comes back .. It doesnt necessarily mean something is wrong but it threw a code at some point for some reason and its still in the memory of the ecm..

Mine did it and there was no code and it stopped coming on after a few days.
My power commander started making my bike act up after i washed one weekend. So i put a new download it off the dyno jet website (since the first download wasd from fuel moto) and the engine light does the same thing now. But the bike runs better then before.
mine did that yesterday when i went for a ride. with the power commander V you don't wait for the yellow circle light to go out before starting according to keith at fuelmoto, and it starts great if you just turn on the ignition then hit the starter button. but yesterday something new happened. started it on the return to home and the red key light came on and didn't blink but just stayed on. tried everything short of stopping, killing the motor and restarting it. and then i just decided while on the hiway to hit the kill switch for a second then turn the kill switch back on. problem solved. no more red key light. the red key being the one that blinks for the armed alarm thingie.
Got mine back on Friday from the dealer after having the 1000 mile service completed. Same thing happened called the dealer today and have to take back tomorrow so they can hook it up and check it out but service manger said just a code thrown not a big deal. We will see...............

Here is how you check if you have a old or new code, and how to clear it. Enjoy!
