Citoriplus.. Did you install the cooler yourself? If so was it an easy install?

Yea, I did it myself, I have done almost everything on my bike myself. But I'm no stranger to a wrench.
Its not hard to do at all. I did it and would recomend doing it whenyou change the oil. Your going to be removing thefilter anyway so its not big deal to pull out the threaded piece the filter screws on to. Then put the gasket, thermostate housing and replacement filter mount in.
After that its just a matter of putting on the two hoses, their clampsand mount the cooler with its three frame clamps.
If your at all handy with toolsthe actual cooler installshouldn't take more than 15/20 minutes tops, minus the cover. After that its just a matter of putting on a new filter and replacing the oil.

I have the HD Premium oil cooler part number 26157-07.
Out here is Southern California it helps on our hot days, like this past weekend of 95 degree and above days. A few of us went on a decent ride of 210 miles, took a lunch break, water break twice, and one gas stop, running 70 ish on the freeways, 4th gear two lane blacktops, and my oil never went above 230 degrees. I know my dip stick temeperature is correct cuz I checked with boiling water. And the oil cooler gives me peace of mind.
Here is a pic of mine....

Not a measureable amount, that's for sure.
If I had to guess, and I do,I would have to say its probably a lot less than half a pint.

I have the H-D Premium cooler and early returns are that it is a quality piece. I will know more once it really heats up here in the CSRA.

i too have the H-D premium cooler. the dealer said it really dosen't need it unless you are doing parades and stuff. i live in va and the summers get pretty hot, i figure anything to keep the temp down is a good thing.
i will be installing it soon with the next oil change. i plan to leave the cover off because it looks like it will cover most of the cooler.

i forgot to mention i have an o4 fatboy carbed.

I installed same model as Soft06. I'm in Florida and the max temp after cruising is less than 200 degrees; and the highest I 've seen so far is right around 210 during heavy traffic.

ANY PIX of that oil cooler would be mega appreciated. If it's the one I am thinking of, it actually mounts vertically across the front down tubes. Does it affect air flow across the front cylinder head? Just curious. You really need one in Florida, cause it's a 'wet heat'.
