Default Lowering a Heritage

I picked up a kit off Ebay to lower the back of my wife's Heritage for her but have been a bit hesitant on installing it. The instructions says that you need to put the shocks in a press too compress the shocks to get a C clip out or something of that nature. Is this a hard mod or is it really pretty simple and I am just sweating the small stuff? Any advice on doing this will be greatly appreciated.

Not a hard thing to do...but, you do need to have a press to do it.

It's fairly easy to do. I lowered my wife's Heritage front and back.
AND since the damned thing now sits at 3.5 inches off the floor, I had
to buy that new Craftsman m/c lift., Aluminum and yellow.
The black and red one wouldn't do, I had to put the bike on phone books..hahahaha
the new one slides right under

I with you on having to put phone books under the bike. I have an 02 Heritage that isn't lowered and the black and red one will not fit under it. I have to put patio blocks under the wheels in order to get the thing on the lift.

Got any pictures of the bike? I am guessing the frontend is lowered by cutting the spring spacer? Ever have any problems scraping going over speed bumps or anything? I have to pull my X up on 2" blocks to get the red craftsman over under it.

No cutting... got the shock bits from Harley instead of buying new shocks. The front end was done with the shorter
front fork springs... again genuine HD specifically for lowering the front end.

And that new Sears m/c jack is wonderful...
