RE: SE 103 Stage II Big Bore with 204 Cam and SERT
204 cams are crap, definatly not the best cam for the 103" kit , what kind of horse power are you getting , torque?? I 've got a 103 " in my 00 fxst with the heads port & polished, roller rockers, & andrews 67g gear drive cams , & i am putting out 125-130 hp & 120-125 ft lbs of torque to the ground . I am curiuos to know what results you got , also if they installed your race tuner , did they create a custom map for you combination or did they just use a standrad map ?
RE: SE 103 Stage II Big Bore with 204 Cam and SERT
You're the first person I've heard say that 204 cams are crap. Everybody else I've spoken withhas pretty much said the same thing...that they pull all the way through and are great cams. I'm familiar with the Andrews cams, too. I'm keeping with SE parts. Someday, when I completely custom build a bike, I'll go with non-SE parts. But right now, I'm sitting on a year-old $17,000 bike that I want to beef up a little and I don't have the money for high-end parts and I need the warranty. I also want reliability. I've had some killer cars with high-end parts that would scream. But they don't last as a daily driver. This is my ride. I hate being in my Jeep. I need to make what I have last.

Well mine is a daily rider , i use it for commute back & forth & since installing the 103" i have put 25k on it & have 100k on the bike as a whole, also , plus which to install gear drive cams you are only looking at an addition 250 dollars over the SE parts, and you can find some deal on line if you know where to look. As far as reliability well anytime you start modifiy something from OEM and toward performance you lose some reliability but if you maintain you equiptment that is kept to a minmum. But hey what do I know I used to be a Service manager for HD

Not saying anything about you, but the above statement does not necessarily mean you know what you are talking about. Hopefully you were one of the "few" knowledgable Service Managers. I have ran into a lot of not-so-knowledgable ones.

Bulllllshit.
The 204 is the same grind as the Andrews 37B, only with a 4 degree advance.
It's a GREAT cam...
My bike runs like a raped ape, no pre-ignition and very street friendly.
Do your heads and it becomes even stronger.
You will lose a little throttle crispness, but the power pulls right up to the rev limiter.

+1 there...i am in the middle of a huge disagreement with the guy where i got my bike. he thinks its great that his tech was able to toune my bike in 8 minuets and with only 7 pulls of the dyno. i told him to shove it and to just give me the money and i will get it tuned properly. i am running a 14.1:1 afr because of them and the bike is running like crap

I had the 103 big bore kit v&h pipes heavy air intake, sert. what they said the put in was street legal and would be covered warret. not sure of the cams after 1000 mile had it dnyo and re tuned. it is put out 81 hp at 103 I was hoping for better. this is in the new fxcwc rocker dealer said with some head work that would cost around a grand it would be in the 100hp range.for this up grade it cost me around $2500.00
