Hi to all on the forum. Just picked up my first HD, a black '05 FXSTI with SE slip ons, 6200 miles. Anything in particular that I need to keep an eye on or be aware of.Been riding since '70 and owned four metric cruisers, so I'm not a total rookie. Hope to learnhow to keep myscooter healthyfrom the wealth of experience and knowledge here atHDF. TIA for your help. Ride often, ride safe.
Welcome, I have an 05 FXSTBI and have had no problems. I think some 05's had an oil consuption problem, something to do with valve seals or umbrella seals? Not really sure. Just keep an eye on the oil level to see how much you go through. Other than that I don't recall any major things. Congrats on your new ride!
Hi and welcome!! you might want to keep an eye on the fuel tank, i have to fill mine up every 80/90 miles!! Oh! and keep a check out inyour mirrors for that silly *** grin.
I can vouch for beinga victim of the silly *** grin. Found the bike 7 miles from my house, but for some reason it took me 85 miles to find my way home afterI picked it up.

Your normal, but if it was my bike I would change the oil in all three holes, just to be safe.
I may be considered a little **** about oil changes, but its worked well for me so far.
Just remembe that Harley's are not like metrics in that they have a dry sump oil system for the engine and seperate oil resevors for theprimary, and tranny instead of one big wet sump for everything.
