I commute from west McKinney to the uptown area of Dallason my bike when ever the weather permits.
I stay off Central ( If you ever see the incar shots at Talladaga, this is Central out of McKinney into Dallas at 6:30AM and getting over from the McDermitt onramp to the HOV is the longest 1/4 mile I've ever experianced#8-O) and go down Ohio/Hillcrest to Cole and on in.
I fill at the Chevron every morning I go in and this morning I decided to check what I was using. It's 84 miles round trip and I only took 1.75 gallons.
Thats 48 MPG!!!
West Mckinney = the non poor side akaEast Mckinney. BTW, I commute from NE county to East Mckinney before the idiots can gang up on you and the ride isnt bad but I only pull 41MPG.48 is great. My sig pic is riding down the grass runway at Kitty Hawkthat was wiped out2 weeks ago by the tornado and storms.
WOW!!!! What a ride. I used to ride from Sherman to Farmers Branch every day. Wasn't a bad ride till ya hit 635. Now that FT worth and Dallas are connected, I bet it is crazy.
Be safe
I was quite pleased after running the first few tanks through my bike and found out that I am getting a steady 42mpg. Whats even better than with my old bike - 86 Magna 700 - I would get only about 43 if I kept out of the throttle and that was with a 6 speed tranny. I am amazed at the fuel economy of the motor on the bike, I was certain I would loose at a minimum of 10mpg.
I live in White Rock area of Dallas and commute to Farmers Branch but I do not use the Freeways. I have a 07 Heritage and I get right at 35mpg in town. Just what Harley claims I will get.
