I just bought my 05 Fatboy and it came with the Polished spun Aluminum Wheels which are beautiful, but keep being told the wind will really affect the ride and hoping to make quite a few trips over the bay bridge this spring, summer and fall.
I wouldnt let the decision be effected by this. Try riding a full fairing bike in a strong cross wind, then you realize the wheels on a FB dont really effect the bike much if any in the wind.
Strong gusty cross wind was pretty hard to handle at times on my Ultra. On the FB it is no more of an issue than and other bike to me and I have owned and risen plenty of different styles. It just isnt a factor that should effect your decision to change up the wheels IMO.
