Default Condensation in speedometer

Have an 06 fatboy and having problems with condensation in the speedometer and looks terrible. It's getting worse now. I have no clue how this is happening. My question is can it be cleaned out because I know in the near future I'm not going to be able to see the speedo. If I can just get something in there to clean the under side of the glass. Is this something that should be attempted or bring it to the dealer? And of course my warranty just ended. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank You Ray

I have the same thing on my 04 Fatboy. Unfortunately, I don't think this is uncommon, just like the fuel guage that does not work. Park it in the sun for a while and let it dry out, but it will return.

It's Harley's special speedo lube (14497-97A). They use it to keep the speedo needle from binding and giving you that bouncing needle thing. It works great for that but unfortunately it has a very low boiling point. It evaps into a gas but has nowhere to go since everything is sealed up in there so it appears as condensation inside the glass.

Thank You for the replies guys. I was wondering though, if it gets any worse, is there a fix for this or do I have to get a new speedometer set-up. It does look like hell when you busted your *** cleaning your ride and you look at that speedo. Thank You again. Ray
