Thanks for the feedback.
I dropped the scoot off at the dealer today, can't wait to see what they say.

I'll keep everyone posted.

Ok great thread. First i have a 07 dyna superglide custom, with PCIII, Stage I and V&H big radius.

And iam having all the problems everyone is mentioning and iam also getting a cut out like if your going down the Highway at constant 70 and it just cuts out spits and give it throttle and its ok.

Now i have pulled my PCIII and wiped it clean reloaded the map, reset the throttle position and it ran ok cpl days. Now its got some decel pop that it didn't have before and its back to cutting out like tonight on way home from work running 60 constant throttle and its cutting in and out and i give throttle and its ok.

I talked to service tech about something i noticed when i had it hooked up to the computer that my Throttle reading on the screen was 0 hold steady but as soon as i give it throttle there is no 1/4 or 1/2 it jumps from 0 to 100 just after the slack is taken up in the throttle cable. Service manage told me to stop in tomorrow and he would hook it up real quick on my way to work and check the throttle thinks its possibly a bad throttle position sensor. Dam i hope i got trip to the dragon in 2 weeks.

He also told me to take the PCIII off and run it and see if i still have the issue and that would rule out the PCIII, he like the PCIII and said usually they don't go bad but it can happen and if i run it with out and problem doesn't show then its PCIII but if its still there then i got sensor issues.

So i will post this time tomorrow let you all know what we find out.

Also i have changed the plugs 3 times, and new SE wires bike has 31,200 miles on it and gas is not an issue as i run thru that to fast for it to be old or bad.

Ok here is what happen today. I rode the 40 miles to the dealer right by where i work and i bought the bike. On the way down the bike cut in and out several times.

Got there and the service manager hooked it up to the HD tech diagnostic plug using the HD tech diagnostic program and checked everything out no codes, no sensor issue everything looked normal. Throttle position was dead on and changing as it was suppose to.

Next we hooked up with the power commander software and the throttle position was off. At idle it was 0 and as soon as you moved the throttle it went to 100. Checked the throttle reset and the numbers were way off. He reset it and we monitored the throttle position on the PC software and it was now changing like normal going up slowly as you give it throttle and back to 0 when you let off.

This service manager likes the Power commanders and installes them at the dealer even told me no need to go to a race tuner that PC is a good tuner. And tried to help me as much as he could. He told me that with the throttle all over like it was i was dumping all or no fuel in the wrong places based off the map in my bike thus causing it to cut out due to basically flooding said i should notice a big difference and told me to run it around the lot they have a big lot.

Running it around the lot i did notice a big difference on exceleration and decel and over all how the bike ran.

I took off since i had some time before work and ran 10miles up the interstate and back with no issues what so ever like i had on the way down. And on the 40 mile ride home tonight no issues and the bike seems to run smoother and better than what it has in long time. So iam hoping that this took care of the issues time will tell.

But i would say if you got a PC and are having these problems its worth plugging in and checking your Throttle position it should be 0 at idle and as you roll on the throttle you should see the number gradually increase until you reach full throttle or 100.

If when you plug in and at idle you go from 0 to 40 to 100 to 30 to 0 to 40 its not right.
If you plug in and at idle your at 0 and give it throttle and it goes right to 100 its not right.

Should be 0 at idle and as you slowly turn it you should see it gradually increase and if you drop off gradually decrease. If you rap it wide open you should see 100 and if you let off it should go back to 0 and stay perfect 0 at idle.

Glad your scoot is running better.
The HD folks over here won't touch my PC III so if it aint fixed when I get it back, I'll go over the steps you posted.

Thanks,

Well I just got back from the Dealer, best I can tell is they were going to unhook the PC III and are going to run some tests.
They are now thinking it is the throttle sensor. If it is, the Manager told me they don't have the part(s) in stock to fix it so they will have to order them from Mainland. They are closed Monday so I should have have more info by Tuesday (Japan time).

I've been having issues for a few months now so a couple more days aint gonna hurt.
I just hope they figure it out. Also my warranty has expired but this has been an ongoing issue so I hope they cover it.

If its an ongoing and documented problem it should be completely covered.
Good Luck and let us know what they find out.

Well my problem is not fixed went on a big poker run yesterday and the bike is still cutting out. So my next step is to take the PC off as well its got to be the PC or a sensor and the service manager told me to take the pc off and if it still does it then we know its the bike and not the pc

Have had similar problem for over a year on my 08 Heritage. Suspected bad gas too but have eliminated that.

Bike will run fine for days, even weeks, then start stalling out and idling rough. Get on it later and runs like a clock.

Finally got around to checking my codes. Got a code for front 02 sensor low. Don't know if it's a historical code or not so I erased it and if the rain ever stops I'll see if it returns. Except for nightrider ieds and rush 1.75s bike is bone stock.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, it never cuts out and the idle never drops like it did before.

Thanks much

UPDATE:

I got my bike back yesterday from the local HD dealer.
They test rode it, ran some tests and ended up replacing the throttle censor.
I put about 100 miles on it today and it runs better than it has in months.

They did not have the part in stock so they took one off a floor bike after they ordered it. Now that's service. The manager did not want me waiting the few days it would take to get here from mainland Japan.

Plus 1 to the Harley dealer here in Okinawa.

NOTE: the Harley dealer here is very very expensive.
Most of the work they do for us military guys is warranty work since we can't afford anything else there. Ha Ha
Most parts are double stateside MSRP.
