I ordered HD's long mirrors stems, they ended up being the same ones that came stock on my 08 NT. I found that by tilting the outter end of the mirror I can swivel it a little more and get a better look behind me. If that still isnt enough for you you might have to go to wider bars. Also, I've seen mirrors that mount on the ends of the bars. Look weird and will probably get in the way....but it's another option.
Couldn't see shyte out of mine either....... So I took them off.
Looks a whole lot better anyway. I am (sort of ) looking for an arm that will allow me to mount them under the bars
, But as of yet I have not found it.
Had the same problem, I loosened the handlebars and rotated them toward me. The bars have a slight bend in them which allows you to rotate them a little without forcing the controls upward. This helped me adjust the mirrors with more of a wider view, the riding position is much more comfortable for me also.

+1 the bike flows much better without them. not to mention i cant see out of them.
I had the same problem, and wound up buying the harley "Skull" mirrors. They have the long pointed end, and those outside points were far enough out that I was able to see.
