Fluid level in Primary case
For all wet clutch HD's, stand the bike upright, when you fill the primary with fluid, stop when you see it reach the bottom of the diaphram spring on the clutch. (thats the brown plate that you can see on the outside of the clutch pack) Thats it.
The bike should be level, put a 2x4 under the kickstand or use a lift to get it level. The primary fluid should be touching the bottom of the clutch diaphragm (that is the proper level of fluid).[/align]
+1, If you are seeing it around the bottom of the clutch plates it is correct. IF you look closely at the picture, where the arrow is pointing, it shows the oil touching the clutch diaphragm. It also gives you a caution statement not to over fill the primary. says it will cause the clutch to not fully disengage and you will have trouble finding neutral.

First of all make sure your bike is vertical and not on the kickstand. Add fluid until the level just "kisses" the bottom of the clutch diagrahm plate. I always shine a light into the cavity of make it easier to see. You should not overfill.
