Default First time ever experience last night...

coming home at dusk through town on the main drag. Three lanes of one-way traffic, I noticed a single bright light light directly on my taillight. Though, huh, another rider out enjoying the 50 degree day. I'm riding in the left car tire track of the lane and the next thing I see is a blue rice rocket fly by me in the right tire track and he accelerated like mad from me going through town way above the posted 35MPH speed limit. A lot of nerve and stupidity and a safety concern for me.

And if he keeps it uphe'll soon becomea stain on the scenery.

Had that happen to me once in Buffalo last summer, but I was driving my pickup, not riding. Its a little disconcerting when your in the left lane of an expressway doinga little over 70 and passing people whentwoof those nuts blow past you on the right doing wheelies. Front tires can't be that expensive you need to hold them up in the air when going that fast.

Long live crotch rockets.... Ever noticed that 99% of the time, the guy in the bike wreck on the 5 o'clock news was on one?

I was getting my windows tinted one day and saw a guy die on his. Doing what the cops estimated tobe around 105mph in a 45mph.... Blue hair pulled out in front of him in a minivan. The rider hit her smack dab in the middle of the sliding rear door so hard it blew the glass outof the other side and literaly folded the van in half. Life Flight landed in the intersection but it was too late.

Nothing wrong with rice rockets, when used properly they are some of the fastest, best handling bikes out there. Its the idiots in the seat that give all of us a bad rap.
Most of those idiots get weeded out in short order.

There's a reason the ER docs call them "donor cycles."

One passed me the other day going the other direction. He had his feet kicked up on the handlebars...

I had my "sqiddley" days back in the '80s on a tricked out '77 Yamaha RD400. The performance was outstanding for the day and invited agressive riding. I wasn't into intentional wheelies or stoppies, perfered to keep both wheels on the ground. Did a lot of lane splitting at 70-90mph on Houstons freeways, rode the emergency lanes and in general was in harms way more than not. The last year I had it, I realized I was getting older and my reactions were not as good. Laid it down 3 times in that year in high speed corners, no permanent damage, sold it and bought a '80 FLT(I wrongfully assumed it would slow me down). Ended up selling it and building my chopper. Been happy ever since.

Just another rice rocketeer A-Hole doing somethin' stupid...
Last weekI was in Maine and heard on the news that some butt stain killed himself trying to do a wheelie while already going way too fast, lost it into the guard rail......now he is just another dead a-hole...

Ride safe out there and watch outfor the nut jobs....
