I've got a 2008 Fatboy with SERT,Hiflo,V&H BSS and SE211 Cams. The Cams are a new addition and whilst they are great in the mid/high end but the low end is very average. Bike has done less than 2,000m.
It was an impulse purchase and I'm wondering whether the HD dealer has palmed me off with a set of cams that are not suitable for the bike.
Just want to know if anyone else has a similar setup and how they are getting on? How do you find the performance? Did I get duped?
That is the trade off with cams. They don't really make power, they just modify your power curve and focus the power in a certain area. If you gain high end, you're gonna lose low end and vice versa. Unless you do a lot of drag racing, the mid range cams are the best way to go.
The 211's will be really lazy on the bottom without increasing compression. 10:1 - 10.25:1 would be ideal without head work. They will really wake up then!
