Just my opinion but there is nothing close to HD chrome quality. It takes abuse and polishes right back to perfect. I really like the chrome quality on my VH pipes but still not close to HD's.
True, but as the old saying goes... "chrome don't get you home!"
ask this is i'm thinking of adding an inner primary cover. The price difference is big.Would the kuryakynbe as cheap looking as the price.thanks
funny you ask cause it was just yesterday i was talking to parts guy at my local dealer and he said " we are out of stock on the Kuryakyn primary cover but I'll tell ya something; Kuryakyn makes the HD inner primary cover for us and we have it in stock"
Humm!! who would of thought....
Sounds like another moronic salesman. I highly doubt Kury does any chrome themselves, and definitely not for others. I would also bet that a lot of Kury stuff is Chinese. You wouldn't believe how many names like Ness and James outsource to China.
MoCo quality is hands down the best, and it's a LONG way to find second place.
I have few Kuryakyn chrome pieces and they are all decent quality.
It really bugs me to buy Chinese products though, so I buy the HD parts whenever I can. Last I knew, HD was taking very good care of their employees that went to war, and to me, that's worth some extra dollars.
I think 100yrfatboy has it right. The reason that kuryakyn's product is a lot cheaper than HD's is that you're comparing 2 different products. HD doesn't make a chrome inner primary cover "cover" they only make a chrome primary cover which means taking your primary cover off and then your inner primary cover off and replacing it with the chrome one. The Kuryakyn product just sits on top of your inner primary cover and doesn't involve replacing anything. It supposed to give you the look of a chrome inner primary cover without all the hassle and work.
kuryakyn is quality stuff. but yeah it depends on how much you want to spend. id like to have the lower forks on my bike chrome, kuryakyn makes a chrome cover that looks great, but its just that, a cover. ill wait until i can spend the money for the chromed lower forks.
